TechPro Standard Installation Guide: Intruder Alarm System
1. Site Survey and Risk Analysis
-
Walk through the premises to identify entry points and high-risk
areas.
-
Choose appropriate sensors: motion detectors (PIR), magnetic
contacts, glass break sensors, etc.
-
Design the layout based on zones (perimeter, interior, vaults,
etc.).
2. Equipment Selection
-
Use dual-technology sensors in areas with temperature
fluctuations.
-
Choose loud sirens and flashing strobes for immediate alerts.
-
Ensure the control panel supports sufficient zones and wireless
extensions if needed.
3. Installation Procedure
a. Sensor Placement
-
Mount PIR sensors 6-8 feet high in corners for maximum coverage.
-
Install magnetic contacts on all doors and accessible windows.
-
Avoid installing near HVAC vents or windows with direct sunlight.
b. Control Panel and Keypad

Place control panel in a secure area with central access to all
zones.
-
Install keypads at main entry/exit points, easily accessible but
not visible from outside.
- Wire sensors through tamper-proof conduits.
4. Power and Communication
- Use dedicated fused power supplies with surge protection.
-
Install battery backup to power the system for at least 12 hours.
-
Ensure GSM or internet modules are configured for remote alerts.
5. Programming and Testing
- Program each zone with appropriate delay and sensitivity.
- Set up arming modes: away, stay, night.
- Test all zones and simulate intrusion attempts.
- Set notification alerts to client's phone/email.
6. Client Handover
- Provide user manual, passwords, and maintenance schedule.
- Demonstrate arming/disarming and panic function.
